Event Description

The Derwent Canoe Club, in partnership with Hobart College is once again offering an opportunity for paddlers to join a semi-structured gym training program. This program aims to build paddlers' strength and conditioning, with the ultimate goals of injury prevention and improved paddling condition so paddlers can better enjoy their time on the water.

The sessions run from 5:30 to 6:30 on Thursday evenings at the Hobart College Fitness Centre. All paddlers are welcome, regardless of experience. In 2017 this program helped a number of paddlers reach their on-water goals. The goals of our paddler were as diverse as the people themselves, with some people looking for a program to help the return to the water after an injury and others looking to build their speed and endurance in races.

The training is a great addition to your normal paddling routine and can help you reach your paddling goals in 2018!
