Event Description

Club Paddle  - Werribee River


Saturday 14th October 9.15am – 1pm


                        Beginner with some experience (others welcome too)


          Distance       16km    


          Start              JD Bellin Reserve, Beach Road, Werribee South


Description Starting from the mouth of the river we travel 8km upstream, having a picnic lunch along the way. 8km back to the start. It is a picturesque route. The tide will be helping us most of the way.


Transport    Your own or we can arrange it – just let me know


Level             Ideal for those who have done a Canning Street paddle and are looking for something new and slightly more challenging.

                        Intermediate and experienced paddlers welcome


Time              Meet at 8.45 (Werribee) for a 9.15am start on the water, after a                                       paddle briefing. Approximate car travel time 40min. I’ll be at the club

                        rooms at 7.30 to help with loading.

            Finish            1 pm at JD Bellin Reserve for a coffee. This is an estimated time

                                    and depends on paddler experience.

-          paddling experience

-          whether you need an ECC boat

o   indicate the type/number you usually paddle

-          whether you need transport

-          medical conditions which might affect paddling

-          emergency contact name and phone number


-          please note: no cotton clothing

-          clothing for all weather conditions

-          a windproof or waterproof jacket

o   shower resistant is not acceptable

-          change of clothing

-          dry bag or similar to store clothing, equipment

-          lunch, water, snacks

-          sunscreen, medication, personal needs

-          a tow rope if you have one


If the weather forecast is for poor weather you will be notified by email or Facebook of cancellation or changes to the paddle. If your clothing is not acceptable you will not join the paddle.
